AFFORDABLE CARE ACT (ACA) HEALTH INSURANCE MARKETPLACE ASSISTANCE - CERTIFIED APPLICATION COUNSELOR | CARE ALLIANCE HEALTH CENTER

Provides certified Assistors (Certified Application Counselors) who aid individuals in navigating the Affordable Care Act Marketplace. Assesses individual health insurance needs, educates about basic health insurance issues, provides information on health insurance plans, helps individuals register and obtain health insurance through the Marketplace, and screens for expanded Medicaid eligibility.

M-F: 8:00am-4:30pm year-round. Will also assist those who may qualify for “special enrollment” any time if they have had a "qualifying life event," such as starting or leaving a job, certain changes in income, and/or changes in family size (for example, if they have marry, divorce, or have had a baby.) Note: Individuals must act within the first 60 days of the "qualifying life event" to qualify.

Fee

No fees for Assistor services. Insurance plan costs will vary depending on the kind of plan one chooses to purchase through the Marketplace. Those with income between 100-400% of the Federal Poverty Line may be eligible for financial assistance programs designed to help pay for an insurance plan.

Eligibility

Serves those who are not eligible for Medicare and who are curious about their public health insurance options. Individuals who have an income through 138% of the federal poverty level should consider getting screened for Medicaid before contacting the Marketplace or an assistor.
