Currently employed Cuyahoga County residents. Annual household income MUST be between 200% and 300% of FPL. Up to 2 adults per household may apply (if 2 adults applying, both must be employed) A household can receive assistance once per lifetime. This is a program of last resort. Lost cards cannot be replaced. If other services are available to assist, those referrals should take precedence. Applicants must be willing to release basic personal information to the Cuyahoga County Department of Jobs and Family Services (more information about this release will be provided by a Tier 2 Specialist once initial application is complete).

Description

Provides a one-time payment via a pre-loaded debit card for a specific, identified need that is preventing the caller from maintaining financial stability or putting the caller at risk of future reliance on public benefits (e.g., clothing for a new job, short-term transportation/car repair for work, etc.). Does not pay for ongoing expenses, such as car payments and insurance. The card must be used at a vendor/point of sale - it cannot be used to withdrawal cash.
