GORMAN NATURE CENTER | RICHLAND COUNTY PARK DISTRICT

Gorman Nature Center, which is the administrative headquarters of The Richland County Park District, features 150 acres of forests, fields, prairies, ponds and streams. The park provides over five miles of public trails close to the population centers of Richland County. Families and individuals are welcome on the trails or in the GNC Visitor Center and picnic areas. The naturalist staff sponsors weekly programs for the general public featuring a wide variety of natural history programs (wildlife, botany, astronomy, etc.), hikes, festivals, field trips, lectures and special events. Offers daily programs for schools, youth groups, garden clubs, senior citizens and service clubs. Public programs are listed in the "Friends of the Nature Center Newsletter."

Visit the Richland County Facebook or website for hours. The Gorman Nature Center Visitor's Center is typically open Wed - Sat 9 am - 3 pm. Trails open daily from dawn to dusk.

Hiking trails are open daily from dawn to dusk.

Fee

No fees. Donations are welcome! All programs are free and open to the general public, unless otherwise noted. Access to the public trails and outdoor facilities is also free of charge. The Richland County Park District does not rent any indoor or outdoor facilities to the general public. All outdoor facilities (picnic shelters, etc.) are available for use on a first-come, first served basis. Outdoor facilities and certain areas of the nature center property are available for outdoor weddings, receptions, gatherings, etc. Please call the park district for details.
