SUPPORTIVE SERVICES FOR VETERAN FAMILIES (SSVF) | FAMILY AND COMMUNITY SERVICES
Provides first month's rent and security deposit to help veterans establish permanent housing. Will also help with rent to help veterans stay in their current housing. Clients are provided with benefits assistance, landlord/tenant assistance, and case management to ensure that they are connected to available community resources and VA benefits. Program may provide incentives to landlords to secure housing for Veterans with rental application barriers. Clients do not have to stay in the county they reside in (may move from county to county).

Eligibility
Serves veterans in Ashtabula, Portage, Geauga, Medina, Trumbull, Summit, Mahoning, Stark, and Lorain Counties who are homeless (doubling up or "couch surfing" counts as homeless) or facing homelessness (a three day notice from the landlord is acceptable). Generally serves those with very low to extremely low income. Due to program funding, there may be times when this program can only help with establishing the client in a new unit (re-housing the client); funds for ongoing rent may not always be available.
