Eligibility

-Limit to one approval in each PRC Budget year. -Must be the primary custodian or legal guardian of at least one minor child - defined as under 18 or under 19 and enrolled in high school full time. -Must be employed. May not be on strike. May not have quit/refused employment within 60 days from date of application. -Must be a Lake County resident and must not be receiving cash assistance, SNAP, or Medicaid in any other state at the time of the application. -Must meet citizenship requirements. -Household income within 200% of federal poverty guidelines. -Can't have already moved in when applying for first month's rent or security deposit. -Hotel stays may not exceed seven nights; families may be responsible for taxes, fees, deposits.

Monday - Friday: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Languages

International Service Center acts as a clearinghouse for interpreters; two Spanish speaking individuals on staff in office.

Application process
May apply online, https://www.lakecountyohio.gov/jobs-family-services/, apply in person, or call PRC applications to request application be mailed. No face to face interviews on Wednesdays. Applications may be submitted on Wednesdays, urgent need will be determined at time application is completed. Application processing time normally 10 days.

Provides rent assistance and lot rent assistance not to exceed four months past due rent. Provides first months rent and/or security deposit. Provides one (1) week hotel stay for homeless families unable to make a reservation at a homeless shelter or domestic violence shelter (if applicable). PRC total amount is $3,000.00.
