Provides the Safe School Helpline, a 24-hour communication service that allows individuals to anonymously report wrongdoing, bullying, violence, theft, drug abuse, weapons or other negative issues in schools. The Helpline also offers a counseling option that immediately links callers to a manned suicide hotline.

Application process

Call the toll-free hotline, text TIPS to 614-426-0240, or visit the website at www.safeschoolhelpline.com to make an anonymous report of a problem.

Fee

No fee for callers.

Eligibility

Students, parents, staff, and community members can report wrongdoing and illegal activities in schools without identifying themselves. Most schools have contracts with this service. The service would still attempt to contact schools not under contract if a report is received.

Languages

Spanish is available as an option on the hotline. Messages left in other languages will be forwarded to interpreters. Website available in Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Filipino, French, Korean, Somali, and Vietnamese.
