Individuals age 17 or older. If both applicants joining in marriage are 17 years of age, they may be joined in marriage only if juvenile court has filed a consent to the marriage. If only one applicant is 17 years of age, that applicant may be joined in marriage only if juvenile court has filed a consent to the marriage and the other person to be joined in marriage is not more than four (4) years older than the applicant of 17 years of age. One person (of the couple applying) must reside in Cuyahoga County or the ceremony must take place in Cuyahoga County. COPIES: No restrictions.
Photo I.D. for both persons Social Security number for both persons proof of age for persons under 18: certified copy of birth certificate Certified copies of divorce decrees places, dates and case numbers of any other divorces physician's affidavit of physical disability (if applicable). COPIES: must have the first and last names of the Groom and the first and Maiden names (or name prior to marriage) of the Bride must have the date of marriage or approximate date.
M-F: 8:30am-4:30pm. Marriage applications are only accepted up until 4:15pm.

Couples MUST pre-register for a marriage license online through the website. Once preregistration is completed may walk-in for service (no appointments necessary). May Phone for information. Parents of females under 18 must be present.

Fixed fee, only accepts cash for license. Fixed fee for copies.

Description

Issues and maintains marriage licenses and provides certified copies of marriage licenses. Licenses are valid for 60 days from the date of issuance and are issued at the time of application.
