Households may qualify for benefits if your household's gross monthly income is at or under 130 percent of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. A household over the income limit may qualify if someone in the household is elderly or disabled. Some household expenses are considered when determining a household's monthly benefit amount. In special situations, resources such as cash, savings and stocks may also be considered when determining whether a person is eligible. Need to provide: * Identification - Driver's License or State ID * Birth Documents - Birth Certificate, Baptismal Record, Hospital Record. * Identity Documents - Applicant as well as Authorized Representatives * Proof of Age - Birth Certificate * Proof of US Citizenship or Alien Status - Birth Certificate, Birth Record, Passport, Certificate of Naturalization. * Proof of Other Disability - (if applicable) * Proof of Social Security Number for every member of household * Proof of Employment Termination - (if applicable) * Proof of Income or Hours Worked * Proof of Residency - Lease agreement, rent receipt, postmarked letter. * Utilities, Property Taxes, Home Insurance, Rent/Mortgage * Proof of other Expenses * Proof of Ineligibility for Benefits - (denials from other government programs) * Proof of Assets Additional documents may be requested.

Description

Determination of eligibility for the SNAP/Food Assistance program to assist individuals/families with the purchase of staples, grocery items. You may call Richland County Job and Family Services and ask for a state hearing, if you disagree with an action taken on your case. Ohio residents have been receiving emergency SNAP allotments to bring all assistance groups (AGs) up to the maximum allotments for the AG size. The emergency allotments began in October 2020 and have continued through August 2021.
