Shelter and transportation is available to Preble County Residents only. Transients/out of county residents can receive limited assistance to return home or return to their county of residence based on need.
No documents required at entry, but clients are encouraged to bring photo ID, social security card, birth certificates, and income verification if possible. Case managers can assist in obtaining missing documents.

Offers hotel/motel assistance only when emergency shelter is full. This assistance is designed for individuals/families experiencing a housing crisis who have no other place to temporarily reside. Offers Homeless Prevention funds to be used to keep Preble County individuals/families experiencing a housing crisis (homelessness) related to non-payment of rent and at risk of homeless should financial assistance not be given. This is short term temporary financial assistance. Documentation is required for this assistance (utility disconnect letters, eviction letters). All funds are paid directly to landlords, utility provider, etc.

Home Is The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization formed to meet the critical shortage of affordable housing options in rural Preble County, Ohio. We own and operate the only 24/7 emergency homeless shelter in Preble County. Additional services include a Senior Home Repair Program and Affordable Housing rentals.
