Eligibility
  • Serves residents of ZIP codes 43903, 43913, 43938, 43943, 43944, 43952, and 43953 within Jefferson County.
  • Must be a Columbia Gas customer.
  • Must need assistance to stop a disconnection, reconnect services, or pay a past due balance.
  • Must have a gross Income at or below 300% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.
  • Will not serve energy diversion customers (those suspected tampering with gas meters).
  • Will not serve customers with bills or unpaid balances older than one (1) heating season.
  • Individual whose name is on the bill must apply (and must reside at the residence). NOTE: Other household members may not apply.
  • May only receive service once every 12 months.

  • Photo ID.
  • Proof of residency.
  • Proof of household income and expenses.
  • Most recent utility bill.
  • Shut-off or disconnect notice.

Provides emergency assistance with gas service payments. Assistance is limited to $450 and will assist with the heating bill and reconnection fees. However, if fee to reconnect is more than $450, client will have to provide the balance of the payment before assistance will be given. Cannot be applied toward security deposits or bills that are not required to maintain service.
