Sanctions offending professionals as appropriate; including possible loss of license. Maintains a data base of currently licensed counselors, social workers, and marriage and family therapists within the state of Ohio. Also approves continuing education providers who want to offer Continuing Education Units (CEU's) for license certification/recertification.

Eligibility

To be licensed: Graduates of accredited colleges or universities, who hold eligible degrees, and who have passed the state's counselor/social work/marriage and family therapist credentialing examination. No restrictions on those wishing to file a complaint. To get Continuing Education Units (CEU's) approved for a program, any entity may apply for approval of CEU's for their program. Board generally wants programs to be led by a mental health professional in order to be approved for CEU's.
