PERSONAL CARE ASSISTANCE (PCA) | SERVICES FOR INDEPENDENT LIVING
Provides reimbursement for assistance with daily living activities to individuals with disabilities so they can work, seek employment, or attend school or job training. Will provide reimbursement of up to $8 per hour for up to 35 hours of assistance per week. Covers services that assist with personal needs such as eating, dressing, bathing, housework, shopping and meal preparation. Provides training to participants in recruiting, hiring and managing an assistant, as well as in employer tax responsibilities. Client must be able to handle paperwork.

Application process
Phone M-F: 8:30am-5:00pm for an application to be sent by mail. Once SIL receives the completed application, the consumer will be contacted and a home intake assessment will be conducted. After the assessment is completed, SIL will send a recommendation on to the Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities. The consumer will be notified by mail of acceptance or denial, generally in three to four weeks after application is received.
