Job Training For Youth / Young Adults | United States Department Of Labor

Offers a job training and education program for eligible youth and young adults. Service includes housing, meals, health care and living stipends during the program, GED preparation, high school diploma programs, job training in more than 100 career areas, (includes health care, construction, hospitality, automotive and machine repair, and more). Training areas are aligned with industry certifications and are designed to meet currently workforce needs. After completing the program, graduates receive transition assistance that includes job leads, interview preparation and a cash bonus.

Eligibility

Serves citizens or legal residents of the United States, aged 16-24 at the time of enrollment who are low-income (receiving public benefits), in need of technical training, education, counseling or related assistance to complete schoolwork or to find and keep a job. Eligible youth must not exhibit behavioral problems that could keep him, her, or others from experiencing full benefits of the program; must not require face-to-face court or institutional supervision or court-imposed fines and must not use drugs illegally.
