Youth, aged 5-20 who are residents of and attend public, non-public schools, community schools, special education facilities and vocational schools in the district, which includes most of Cleveland, parts of Brook Park and Garfield Heights, and all of Bratenahl, Linndale and Newburgh Heights. Students in grades K-8 (ages 5-14) are eligible for transport by district bus if they live 1 mile or more from their school. Students in grades 9-12 may receive public transit tickets if they live at least one mile from their assigned school. If a student chooses to attend another school that isn't their “assigned school” or a designated “specialty” school, then the District may not be able to provide transportation services. For non-public or charter schools, if no district bus transport is available for eligible students, parents may receive reimbursement through the "Payment in Lieu" program and should see their school administrators for this program.

Bus transportation provided during the school year, August-May. Office Contact hours are M-F: 6:00am-7:00pm. Public transit passes are good on school days M-F: 6:00am-6:00pm.

Eligible students receive a mailing from the district with their bus assignment prior to start of school year. May also call transportation office for bus assignments. Call for information on purchasing public transit tickets. Check with child's school for process to apply for reimbursement of parent-provided transportation. Students with an Individual Education Plan (IEP)should contact the district's office of disability services for issues related to transportation.
