Major Unusual Incident Department (MUI) | Lucas County Board Of Developmental Disabilities

Investigates cases of alleged abuse (physical, sexual, verbal) and neglect, any health or safety issue, or misappropriation situations for adults with developmental disabilities. Will field calls concerning individuals with severe physical disabilities as well.

Eligibility

-Residents of Lucas County -Adults age 18 and older (in most cases) -Individuals with a developmental disability -Registered with the County Board (however, will field calls concerning those who are not registered with the board. An individual with a severe physical disability must have incurred the qualifying disability from birth through age 21).

Provides services that assist individuals with developmental disabilities in reaching their full potentials. Serves more than 4,000 individuals throughout the county. The Board is responsible for, among other things, Provider Support, Medicaid Administration, Service & Support Administration, a Children's Department, which provides the Early Intervention Program; and a Community Inclusion Department, which includes Special Olympics, travel training, and employment navigation.
