The board of elections recognizes three places in Cuyahoga County that homeless individuals can use as their address to register to vote. These include: West Side Catholic Center (women), the Cosgrove drop-in center, and the men's shelter at 2100 Lakeside Ave. Those who are registered as above, may vote early either by walking in or requesting a ballot by mail during the same hours as other populations. Those voting in person on election day will need to vote in the precinct that serves the shelter where they registered to vote. Call M-F: 8:30am-4:30pm. After 4:30, an automated phone system will help callers check voter registration status, election dates, correct polling place to cast ballot in person on election day. Voter registration status and polling place information are also available by web site any time. Those walking in to vote without required documents may vote a provisional ballot, which will be counted when verification of voter registration is made within four days of voting. Poll workers will provide information on how to verify documents in order to ensure provisional ballots are counted.
