Provides individual, marital, and group counseling. Helps clients to deal with acute crises related to marital problems, grief, abuse, phobia, and depression. Also provides counseling for major psychiatric disorders such as: Schizophrenia, Bi Polar Disorder, etc. Psychiatric counseling uses therapeutic techniques to promote positive personality growth and development and to maximize the individual's ability to function as independently as possible. This may include the use of medication in which a psychiatric evaluation is used to determine the need for medication; prescription of an appropriate drug; and periodic follow-up to monitor the effectiveness of the medication.
