Provides testing of all local beaches and publishes the results on the agency web site. Notifies beach operaters of inspection results. Inspects all public pools for safety and health.

Conducts a wide range of health-related education, regulation, and support services within its jurisdiction. Includes Environmental Health Division (food protection, risk assessments, septic system and well safety, solid waste disposal), Prevention and Wellness Division(nutrition services, wellness programs, dental care referrals), immunizations, lead poisoning prevention and detection, communicable disease prevention and control, child care education, school health, etc.), and Epidemiology/Surveillance Division. Acts as liaison with Early Start and Bureau for Children with Medical Handicaps.
