Eligibility

* Serves Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Mahoning, Medina, Portage, Summit, and Trumbull Counties. * Loans are not generally available to help with emergency situations. Eligible loans will help borrowers correct a situation but will not put a temporary fix on a larger issue. * Borrower must have enough income to pay all bills while paying the loan back in monthly installments. * Other adult members of borrower's household are considered co-applicants, and their income added to that of the applicant needs to be enough to pay all bills while paying back the loan. * In addition to the applicant (and co-applicant, if applicable), loans require one person (guarantor - someone who lives in Northeast Ohio in a separate household, who has income and the ability to pay back the entire loan if the borrower defaults). * Guarantors' income cannot be factored into any part of the income of applicants. * Applicants must not be eligible for a bank loan or other "traditional financing" but agency will consider applicants who have received notice they qualify for subprime loans with high interest (greater than 20% APR). * High credit scores are not expected of borrowers, but agency expects to see that borrowers attempt to pay their bills on time.
