Community Housing Impact And Preservation (chip) | Lorain County Community Development Department

Offers home repairs and rehabilitations to income-eligible Lorain County homeowners. Repairs may include roofs, water heaters, furnaces, A/C, electric panel, electrical, ADA modifications, plumbing, and more. The Home Repair Program provides no-cost upgrades and fixes for qualified homeowners. This grant-funded program requires no repayment by the homeowner. The Home Rehabilitation Program offers more extensive repairs and upgrades for homes. Assistance will be in the form of a declining-forgivable loan. There is no monthly payment, and no interest will be charged. No credit check is needed. 100% of the amount borrowed will be forgiven over (5) years provided owner continues to own and occupy the home. NOTE: Funding varies from year to year and might not always be available.

Serves low income homeowners of Lorain County, except for residents of the cities of Elyria, Lorain, or Vermilion. Must be at or below 80% of the Area Median Income. - Total household income must be at or below 80% of the Area Median Income (updated April 1st, 2024): - Family of 1 = $54,450. - Family of 2 = $62,200. - Family of 3 = $70,000. - Family of 4 = $77,750. - Family of 5 = $84,000. - Family of 6 = $90,200. - Family of 7 = $96,450. - Family of 8 = $102,650.
