No fees (individual 4-H groups may charge minimal dues, but no one is excluded for inability to pay). Fixed fee for 4-H project books (nominal). Fixed fee and registration fee for summer camp, although scholarships are available.

Offers educational programs that focus on leadership development and citizenship by completing projects that center on a specific topic such as gardening, animal science, food and nutrition, the arts, genealogy, and natural sciences. Youth meet in small groups, or "clubs," to pursue special interests and participate in a variety of activities including, but not limited to camps, fairs, community service, and leadership. Also offers an international exchange program as well as a week long residential summer camp.
