Eligibility

- Serves residents of Summit County. - To receive tax preparation assistance, must have an earned income and adjusted gross income (AGI) of $67,000 or less during the 2025 tax year. - Able to assist with self-employment (sole-proprietorships) for households that meet income eligibility. - NOTE: Not able to assist with bankruptcy, foreclosure, rental income, non-cash charitable contributions over $500, virtual currency, farm income, and small businesses with business loss, employees, or inventory.

Required documents

Bring the following documentation: - Photo ID for the tax filer (and spouse, if filing jointly). - Social Security card, official correspondence from Social Security Administration that includes Social Security Number, or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) letter for all people listed on the return. - If Married Filing Jointly both persons must be available to review the tax return. - If anyone on the tax return has been a victim of identity theft and has been issued a 6-digit Identity Protection Personal Identification Number (IP PIN) by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), bring that document to the appointment. - Wage and earning statements such as W-2 / W-2G / 1099 forms including 1099-R, MISC, SSA, NEC or G. - Interest and dividend statements from banks (Form 1099-INT&DIV). - Birth dates for all listed on the return. - If divorced, the divorce decree parent custody guide, and if required, Form 8332. - Alimony paid and received, if divorce decree was finalized December 31st, 2020 or prior. - Documentation of total paid for child care, and child care provider's Social Security or Employer ID Number. - Documentation of educational expenses (such as the 1098-T Tuition Statement). - Any other relevant tax information about income and expenses, including any correspondence received from the IRS. - If receiving a refund by direct deposit, documentation of bank account number and bank's routing number (a voided check is acceptable). - If possible, bring a copy of last year's tax return. NOTE: For an amended return, bring the original return that was submitted and supplemental documents.
