Provides assistance dogs to people with developmental or physical disabilities who can demonstrate that a Canine Companion will enhance their independence or quality of life. Trains dogs regarding 40 commands.

Application process
Call the office to request an application packet or apply online. An applicant coordinator will review the application and conduct an interview to determine if, and what type of, an assistance dog best suits the applicant's needs. After approximately 3-months selected applicants will be invited to attend a 2-week Team Training course.
Fee
Dogs are provided at virtually no cost to the graduates. All the expenses of breeding, raising, and training a Canine Companion are funded through private donations.
Eligibility
- This regional office serves children (age 5 and over) with physical or developmental disabilities, and adults with physical or auditory disabilities, and Veterans with a Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) diagnosis or physical or auditory disabilities. - Must be independently mobile. - Must have the means and resources to care for a service dog.
