May only use service once per lifetime. Residents of Parma who have recently experienced a sudden no-fault loss of income due to unforeseen circumstances such as an accident, illness, loss of employment (cannot be terminated from job), or disability. Must be experiencing a sudden no-fault loss of income and not just a reduction in income such as a new job that is paying less then the old one. Will not help those on a fixed income. For utility assistance: must have received letters of possible shut-off or a shut-off notice. For rent/mortgage assistance: must have missed payments and be in danger of eviction or foreclosure. Client can only receive service once. May be a renter or homeowner.

Description

Offers limited financial assistance to residents of the City of Parma who are facing financial hardship due to unforeseen circumstances such as an accident, illness, disability, or death. Will provide assistance for up to three months to help prevent eviction, foreclosure, or disconnection of utilities (gas, water, sewer, or electric). Generally, $6,000 for a family and $3,000 for a single person. Assistance can exceed those amounts if warranted by the three month rule.
