Application process
Veterans should register for VA health benefits before they seek service, if they have not already done so (Veterans can apply in-person at any VA Hospital or business office). Phone for information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Eligibility
Serves eligible veterans. The VA urges all veterans to enroll to determine basic eligibility. A veteran includes any person who served in active military service and who was discharged or released under conditions other than dishonorable as well as active-duty veterans and reservists/national guardsmen who served on active duty. The level of benefits granted will depend on when the Veteran served and the nature and duration of their service.
