- Serves residents of Columbiana, Mahoning, Medina, Portage, Stark, Summit, Trumbull, and Wayne counties. - Gross household income must be at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines OR must be an adult age 60 or over. - Case acceptance is based on a variety of criteria including case type, level of service required, goal of representation, merit, and availability of staff. Other criteria may apply based on the details of the case. - Even if a caller does not qualify for agency services, Community Legal Aid is often able to refer callers to another appropriate program.
If possible, callers should collect legal documents related to the case in order to provide information during the screening process. Take photographic images of the living situation over time if possible.

Applicants will be informed about the status of their application and next steps. - Prospective clients go through a brief eligibility screening process. If eligible, clients are scheduled to speak with an attorney who will discuss their problem with them. - Cases needing more than telephone consultation are served at local offices according to case acceptance criteria.
