Eligibility

Serves non-custodial parents who are Stark County residents who meet the following criteria:
  • Have been unemployed for at least 30 days and have not paid support for 30 days.
  • Open and active child support case from Stark County.
  • The applicant must be physically able to work.

Due to Covid-19: Monday - Friday: 8:00am to 4:00pm. Closed on federal holidays.

Application process

Due to Covid-19, call the office for more information. Each candidate will have a phone interview which will last about an hour. If eligible, an appointment is made to enroll the candidate in the program.

Provides a program that helps unemployed non-custodial parents overcome barriers to employment, obtain a job, and work to develop meaningful relationships with their children. Participants may receive one of the following types of benefits:
  • Regular Benefits: If driver's license was revoked due to non-payment of child support, it will be re-instated and participant will receive a referral list to other service providers.
  • Extra Benefits: If driver's license was revoked due to non-payment of child support, it will be re-instated. Will be required to attend class for 4 weeks. Upon completion of the class, if the individual has back support owed to the state, the state will waive up to $2,500 per case. After the individual has gained employment and pays support for 6 consecutive months, if there is still any back support owed to the state, an additional $2,500 will be waived for each case, if needed.
