Eligibility
Must meet the following criteria:
  • The home is built before 1978 and has lead paint hazards.
  • A child under the age of six (6) lives in the home OR visits the home for a period of at least six (6) hours a week.
  • The household meets the income guidelines (subject to change) as set forth by HUD.
  • If renting, landlord must complete application.
  • Must be up to date on mortgage and/or property taxes.
Required documents
Completed application, birth certificates for children under 6 years old, and proof of income for all occupants. Other documents may be requested as needed,

Provides grants to assist eligible City of Akron residents with lead control projects. Landlords may be eligible to receive a 75% grant for work to control lead paint. Lead abatement projects can include siding, doors, windows, steps, and porches.
