Home Purchase Assistance | Greater Cleveland Habitat For Humanity
Rehabilitates houses with volunteers and Partner Families and then sells the home to the Partner Family with a no interest mortgage and for no profit. Accepted families also receive home ownership training and continued support after moving into the house. If accepted, must volunteer at least 200 hours. This is a long and involved process that generally takes at least a year. A limited number of houses will be rehabbed and sold.

Application process
Open enrollment sessions are held at various times throughout the year (approximately 2-3 times a year) application process is only open during this time. Interested persons should attend the open enrollment session to obtain information and an application. Information on the date and location of next open enrollment session may be found on Web site anytime. May also download a form via website (client would fill out this form to express their interest in the program - if they meet the initial requirements, the agency will mail them a full application).
Fee
Client pays closing costs and purchases the home through an interest free, no profit loan.
Eligibility
Adults 21 and older who are first time home-buyers. Eligibility is also based on: Need and ability to pay (Partner Family must have income between 30 and 80 percent of the area median income) and willingness to partner with the agency. Selected families must display the ability to pay a no-profit, no interest mortgage consistently over time.
