Replacement Of Food Assistance Benefits | Geauga County Job And Family Services
Provides replacement funds to Food Assistance (food stamp) recipients who have lost food due to a power outage, fire or governor declared emergency. Replacement funds may replace up to (but not exceed) the client's monthly allotment of food assistance.

Application process
Phone to request application. For specific questions regarding card services, clients may phone the customer service line for Food Assistance, which is open 24 hours a day. Client must return application to the agency (on site or by mail) within 10 days of the reported loss. Verification of the outage and duration may be required.

Eligibility
Serves Ohio Direction Card (food Stamp) recipients residing in Geauga County who have lost food due to a power outage, fire, or flood. In the case of a loss of electricity - power must have been out for at least four hours or more due to a situation beyond the client's control (a shut-off due to a lack of payment does not count.) Will only help with replacement due to flooding or other disaster if the incident is a governor declared emergency.
