Maintains Ohio birth and death records back to 1908. Maintains index of marriages that occurred in Ohio from January 1, 1950 to present and divorces that occurred in Ohio from January 1, 1954 to present. Adoption records prior to 1964 open to adoptees seeking their natural parents. (After 1964, contact Probate Court where adoption took place).

The office serves as the agency liaison to LHDs, administers public health Improvement Standards, drafts recommendations regarding approval of LHD contracts, serves on statewide committees, workgroups and task forces and provides technical assistance to LHDs.
