Seeks to integrate refugees into American society economically and socially, while helping to maintain cultural heritage. Offers a variety of services including Refugee Cash Assistance (RCA), Refugee Medical Assistance (RMA) and Refugee Social Services program (RSSP). RCA and RMA are limited to the first 8 months from the date that the refugee enters the United States. Social services for refugees are available to a refugee for the first 5 years after arrival in the United States.

Serves individuals who are outside the country of their nationality and who are unable or unwilling to return to, and are unable or unwilling to avail himself or herself of the protection of that country because of persecution or a well-founded fear of persecution on account of race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion.
