Must have had contact with the individual within three months prior to the disaster. Will not check on friends or property. Also offers a website where those affected by a disaster may list their name along with a short message about their safety. Those looking for information about these individuals can search the website for the information. Information provided about the person in the disaster area includes: first and last name, a brief message about their safety and date posted on website.

Go to the website anytime to register yourself as safe and well or to search for someone on the list. If searching for a family member or friend, must have the pre-disaster phone number and/or complete address (Street Address, City, State, ZIP Code) of the person. Or phone for information and to initiate an inquiry M-F: 8:30am-4:30pm (Local Office) or the national phone number 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Before phoning, first try to contact the individual before calling for assistance. Must have had contact with the individual within three months prior to the disaster. Will need to know the relative's name, current address, and phone number.

Eligibility

Serves residents of Adams, Athens, Clinton, Fairfield, Fayette, Highland, Hocking, Pickaway, Ross and Vinton counties who are looking for information about family or friends in a disaster area. For assistance by phone must also: be a family member including spouse, parent, sibling, child, grandparents, legal guardian, or significant other. There must be the potential of a medical emergency or serious health problem for the person in the disaster-affected area (such as the person has a previous illness or health condition or is frail). There are no restrictions for those who need to post their safety status on the website or for those who want to check to see if a loved one has posted their status.
