Provides public transportation along fixed routes in Summit County. Northcoast Express (x61) provides transportation from downtown Akron to Cleveland (servicing downtown Cleveland, the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland State University, Wade Park Veterans Affairs Hospital, and the Jack Cleveland Casino) along either I-77 or Route 8. Note: Regular line service buses can accommodate wheelchairs or mobility aids within safety guidelines. Provides app-based transportation in Southern Summit County called METRO NEXT.

Application process

- Please check digital schedules on www.yourmetrobus.org or the Transit app for time adjustments. - Be at pickup location by the scheduled pick-up time. Call Customer Care for more information. To Use Mobile Ticketing: - Download the free EZfare app on Android or Apple app stores. Passes can be purchased anytime, anywhere. - Create an account. - Select METRO RTA. - Purchase your desired ticket using your credit card or various digital wallets. - Activate the bus pass just before boarding. - Show the active pass to the bus operator.

Fee

- Metro Direct (fixed route) fares free on 1st Thursday of every month with a valid library card. Drivers for Fixed/Line-Service Route accept Mobile Ticketing, METRO fare cards, or cash and cannot make change. - General Fare: $1.25 each way. - Older Adults (age 62 and over) and persons with disabilities: $.50 each way with qualified ID. - Children: Up to two (2) children under age 5 are free with each fare-paying adult. - One-Day Pass: $2.50 (does not include Northcoast Express or METRO SCAT). - Seven-Day Pass (consecutive days): $15.00 (does not include Northcoast Express or METRO SCAT). - General 31-Day Pass (consecutive days): $50.00 (does not include Northcoast Express or METRO SCAT). - Older Adult/Disability 31-Day Pass (consecutive days): $30.00 with qualified ID (does not include Northcoast Express or METRO SCAT). - Northcoast Express Fare: $5.00 each way. - Northcoast Express Fare for students, faculty, and staff of The University of Akron: $4.00 each way with Uni
