St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store “Voucher” Policy Project Woman, Interfaith Hospitality Network, and McKinley Hall People in residential care with Project Woman, Interfaith Hospitality Network, and McKinley Hall coming to St. Vincent de Paul for additional assistance can receive help with: *Free Clothing Vouchers- This manner of assistance is available every 90 days to people with proof of identification and proof of Clark County residency. Separate PHOTO I.D.s for everyone over 18 getting clothing are required. Children under 18 MUST also have some legitimate form of I.D. (I.e. birth certificate, state I.D., driver’s license, social security card as additional I.D.). Anyone over 18 MUST apply independently. On Tues.,Weds.,& Thurs. 10:00-3:00, the Free clothing available is located in a specified .49 clothing rack area, marked with black tags. Exception: Free Underwear, shoes, and children’s clothing are found all over the store. All other clothing items are priced TO SELL in order to make monies for our Food Pantry. Applicants are eligible for free clothing every 90 days, not sooner. This application/information electronically recorded on ServeWare. Clothing Items EACH APPLICANT MAY HAVE included are: 1 pair of pajamas, 3 shirts or sweaters, 3 pants or dresses, 3 undergarments, 3 pair of socks, 1 pair of shoes, 1 coat or jacket *Free Household Items Vouchers- These items are provided based on availability, as we never know what we will get donated in the way of household merchandise. This is available once-a-year per household, to people with proof of identification and proof of Clark County residency. People in need of these items can sign up for household assistance and be provided with this pre-organized Care-Kit. It will consist of specific items selected by the St. Vincent de Paul thrift store staff. Any household items beyond the contents of that kit can always be purchased. Applicants are eligible for free household items once a year, not sooner. This application/information is electronically recorded on ServeWare. Household Items included are: (1 of each item for each person in the home) Silverware- spoon, fork, knife, sharp knife; coffee cup, drinking glass; plate 1 skillet, 1 pan; Choice of: coffee-maker OR lamp $4.00 or less Toy for each child (documented by I.D.) in the home; book Furniture Assistance- This assistance can only be provided through the SVdP Pantry’s Emergency Assistance Call system on Tuesdays and Fridays from 10:00-10:30 am. (937-322-0838) Once the caller successfully gets through on the Emergency Assistance line, their name and information will be given to a Church Conference. One of their members will call them in the coming days to make a visit with them, take an application for assistance, and put them on the waiting list (at the Thrift Store) to provide whatever on the furniture request they are able to fulfill. This type of assistance IS NOT provided by the Thrift Store, however, the furniture is provided from thrift store inventory selected by the store managers. All other furniture in the store is designated and priced TO SELL in order to make monies for our Food Pantry. Household Appliance Assistance (i.e.washer/dryer/refrigerator/stove)- This assistance can only be provided through the SVdP Pantry’s Emergency Assistance Call system on Tuesdays and Fridays from 10:00-10:30 am. (937-322-0838) Once the caller successfully gets through on the Emergency Assistance line, their name and information will be given to a Church Conference (St. Teresa’s, St. Bernard’s, St. Rays/St. Joes). One of these church members will return the call in the coming days to take an application for assistance, and put them on the waiting list to provide whatever appliance request they are able to fulfill. On occasion, if a conference is financially able, they might purchase the requested appliance from MCM Appliance on Selma Rd. and have it delivered. This type of assistance IS NOT provided by the
