No income restrictions; however, property taxes must be up-to-date and the property must be insured. Landlords qualify if the home is in one of the targeted areas and has 1 to 3 occupancy units. Past projects or projects that are currently being completed do not qualify. Houses must be at least 50 years old and must be located in one of the following areas: In the Cuyahoga County: Bay Village, Beachwood, Bentleyville, Berea, Bratenahl, Brooklyn, Brooklyn Heights, Chagrin Falls, Cleveland, Cleveland Heights, Cuyahoga Heights, Euclid, Fairview Park, Gates Mills, Glenwillow, Highland Heights, Lakewood, Linndale, Lyndhurst, Mayfield Heights, Mayfield Village, Middleburg Heights, Newburgh Heights, North Olmsted, North Royalton, Olmsted Falls, Olmsted Township, Orange Village, Parma, Parma Heights, Pepper Pike, Seven Hills, Shaker Heights, Solon, South Euclid, Strongsville, University Heights, Walton Hills, Westlake, and Woodmere; Geauga County: Chardon; Lorain: Oberlin. Description

Provides owners of historic homes in targeted neighborhoods with a low-interest loan from KeyBank or from Third Federal Savings and Loan to complete historic preservation repairs and rehabilitation. Program provides assistance with interior and exterior projects of various types (painting, landscaping, etc.). Loans cannot be used for projects such as vinyl siding, vinyl windows, luxury items (hot tubs, swimming pools, etc.), decks and patios, and other projects that do not preserve the home's original historic appearance. Technical assistance will be provided on re-creating the original look of the houses. The minimum amount that may be borrowed is $3,000.
