- Individuals and families may qualify if the household income is under 130% of the Federal Poverty Guideline level. - Households are categorically eligible/automatically qualify if they are receiving SSI, OWF, or PRC services. - Changes in household composition and income could result in changes to benefit amount. Recipients are responsible for reporting these or any other changes within 10 days of occurrence. Receiving more than a household is entitled to could result in overpayment penalties or charges of fraud. - Once approved, individuals and families can remain eligible for benefits until their income exceeds 200% of the Federal Poverty level, at which point their benefits would decrease but not immediately terminate. - Serves United States citizens. NOTE: Beginning March 2026, individuals who were previously exempt from the 20-hour-per-week work requirement may lose that exemption and will be required to meet the work requirement. If DJFS determines that you do not meet any exemption criteria, you will receive a notice in early February 2026 on next steps. Contact your local JFS office at 844-640-6446 for further information.
