Eligibility

- Serves income eligible homeowners residing in the City of Lorain. Call for details. - The property taxes, insurance, and mortgage must be current and paid to date. - Applicants’ liquid assets must not exceed $100,000. Liquid assets include cash in checking and savings accounts, money transfer apps (CashApp, Venmo, and so forth), certificates of deposit (CDs), and other investments.

Spanish speaking residents should make an appointment with the Housing staff to assist with translation of the application and other program information.

Application process

- Call the office Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 3:30pm to speak with a member of the Housing Division. - Or visit the website for more information and an application. - Applications can be dropped off at City Hall in the Building, Housing and Planning Department, 5th Floor anytime between 8:30am and 3:30pm Monday through Friday.

Fees

Repayment of the loan is based on household income of the applicant and additional qualifications.
