Probate Court functions include settling of estates, granting marriage licenses, guardianship of individuals who might be mentally impaired. The Court operates in accordance with the Ohio Revised Code and rules governing the courts of Ohio. Juvenile Court considers complaints prepared by the Athens County Prosecutor or transferred from another jurisdiction alleging a juvenile (under age 18) might be a traffic offender, delinquent, unruly, abused, neglected or dependent.
