Energyshare | Salvation Army - Portage County

- Must be an Enbridge Energy customer in Portage County and have a shut-off notice for their gas service (those age 60 and over do not need to have a shut-off notice). - Must have already applied for and received assistance through E-HEAP / Winter Crisis program (while it is available) through The Community Action Council of Portage County. - All other forms of assistance must also be exhausted before applying. - Gross Income must be at 175% of the Federal Poverty Limit (FPL) or less, head of household is unemployed or experiencing a personal/family crisis (sudden loss or reduction of household income, house fire, massive unforeseen medical expenses.) - Only person whose name is on the bill can apply (and must reside at the residence). - Client can only receive service once per year. - NOTE: Cannot be used for energy diversion customers (those suspected tampering with gas meters), bills or unpaid balances older than one heating season. - NOTE: Most clients will not be eligible until January, due to program requirements for having already used E-HEAP/Winter Crisis and also receiving a subsequent disconnect notice.

Will be requested as needed and includes: - Photo ID. - Disconnect notice. - Gas bill. - Proof of denial/acceptance from E-HEAP (during Winter Crisis season).

Program is active December 1st through May 31st (or until funds are depleted). - By appointment only.
