Eligibility
Court order granting legal custody or guardianship on or after July 1, 2005; child resides with the caregiver; caregiver is an Ohio resident; placement was approved by the county PCSA; Power of Attorney does not qualify; household income must not exceed 300% of the federal poverty guideline.

Call the office for more information or to request an application. Criminal background checks are required for all adult household members.
Fees
No fee for the program. Applicant is responsible for BCI fingerprint check costs.
Service area

Provides short-term, time-limited payments to relative caregivers who have obtained permanent legal custody of a child. This is not emergency assistance, as payments reimburse the initial costs of taking a kinship child into the caregiver's home. Payment availability is determined by the state budget.
