UPWARD BOUND | WITTENBERG UNIVERSITY

Upward Bound is a program funded by the Federal Department of Education to assist low income high school students and potential first-generation college students in preparing for education beyond the high school level. Services include tutoring, counseling, assistance with college and financial aid applications, and a residential summer program.

Must be recommended by a teacher, have parents have not received a bachelor's degree, be a citizen of the USA, enrolled in a target area school and be in the 9th, 10th, or 11th grade.

This is a liberal arts university. Services for students and alumni include: career counseling and placement, graduate admissions testing, job information, and small group career workshops. The Community Education Department offers a wide variety of classes for the community, as well as a camp for gifted and talented 5th, 6th, and 7th graders. The Community Workshop Program provides student volunteers to local service organizations.
