Ages 11-19. Targets low income and/or first generation college-bound students in selected Cleveland Metropolitan School District schools. Students in grades 6-12 are served through the following High/Middle schools: John Hay, Martin Luther King, East Tech, Lincoln-West, Rhodes, Scranton, and Charles A. Mooney. Any low income and/or first generation college bound student throughout the County may participate in the program in grades 11 and 12.
Proof of income (to complete financial aid and college admissions' applications, Social Security card.
Varies. Services are delivered in the designated schools during school hours throughout the school year (September-June). Office appointments can be scheduled for those 11th and 12th graders not in participating schools.

Description

Provides a pre-college educational program designed to identify qualified youth and to encourage them to finish high school and attend college. Program also seeks to publicize available financial assistance for college. Services include career workshops, college tours, financial aid counseling, educational and cultural field trips, admissions applications assistance, proficiency test preparation, tutoring and study skills assistance, a summer enrichment program and scholarship information.
