Application process
Clients cannot self refer to this agency. A representative from a participating social service agency must make a referral on the client's behalf (a list of agencies the Furniture Bank has worked with is available on the website – but this is not all inclusive – the Furniture Bank will work with churches as well). If the client is already working with an agency, they should contact their existing case manager (or other agency staff with whom they are currently working with) to request a referral. If they do not currently work with an agency, they can contact one of the agencies listed on the agency’s website or, if possible, the client should be referred to an agency that specializes in the client’s particular situation such as Coordinated Intake for homeless individuals or the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) for older adults and/or those with disabilities. Appointments for furniture voucher redemption may take up to 3 weeks from the time of initial referral. Individual staff from a referring agency will need to go to the website and register with this agency before making a referral.
Fees
There is a non-refundable administrative fee of $100 for each family, which (in some cases) may be paid by the referring social service agency (however, some agencies may not pay this). Delivery, if needed, is available for an additional fee, which varies depending on destination (client will need to bring the furniture inside); delivery fee is $80.
