Shelter - Pregnant Women | Zelie'S Home

Pregnant women who are age 18 or older or pregnant women who have children (at the shelter) who are under age 1 in their custody. Clients can begin living in the home at any point during their pregnancies and can continue living there for 9 months after the child is born. Exceptions may be made depending on the situation. Shelter cannot accommodate more than one child under 2 years old. Serves women who plan to parent their child, as well as women who plan to place their child with an adoption agency. Does not serve clients who are actively using drugs or alcohol. They must present as being clean and sober for the past 30 days. Does not accept anyone who is actively fleeing a domestic violence situation. Women with mental health issues will be assessed for stability and ability to function in a group environment. Accepts ex-offenders.

Description

Provides shelter and support programs for pregnant women, and pregnant women who have a child under the age of 1, who are unable to remain in their homes or are homeless. Agency can assist with transportation for women when they are moving into the home and during the time they are residents in the home.
