Eligibility
- Serves residents of Twinsburg age 65 and over and residents 55 and over with a permanent disability.
- Transportation to medical appointments is limited to locations within a 10 mile radius and includes Bedford Hospital and doctors' offices in Hudson. Transportation to Ahuja Medical will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
- Transportation for routine errands (such as post office, bank, hair salon, and library) is limited to locations within five (5) miles.
- Rides are limited to one (1) appointment/errand per day.
- Drivers are not permitted to make unscheduled stops.
- The driver is not permitted to enter homes or to escort clients to an appointment. If assistance is needed, an adult companion who does not drive may accompany the rider.
- The driver may assist with a limited number of packages weighing no more than 10 pounds.
Required documents
An application must be filled out, returned, and approved before individuals are eligible for the program. Residents with a permanent disability must provide documentation from a doctor or an SSI statement validating disability.
Hours
- Call Monday - Friday (except Federal holidays) from 8:00am to 2:00pm to schedule a ride. Have the appointment time, phone number, and complete address of the destination when scheduling a ride.
- Transportation is available Monday - Friday: 8:30am to 3:30pm except on federal holidays. Call for details and availability.
- Medical rides can be scheduled up to three (3) months in advance and errands can be scheduled up to one (1) week in advance.
