Must be referred by a physician. Physician must write a prescription for evaluation. Must be at least 18 years old and have a a driver's license or temporary permit. Participants must be seizure-free for the last year.

Fixed fee. May be paid in full or part through Medicaid, Private Insurance (some), residents of Cuyahoga County and some non-residents may be eligible for a rated scale and pay a lower rate. Metrohealth will work with the client to verify coverage or determine payment options.

Description

Provides assessment of ability to drive for those persons whose driving ability may be affected by a disability or condition such as dementia, brain injury, stroke, Parkinson's disease, etc. Evaluation takes place in two parts: first part is a clinical evaluation of cognitive and motor functioning including use of a driving simulator; part two includes a road test.
