Eligibility

  • No experience necessary. Volunteers working with girls must pass a background check.
  • Coaches do not have to run.
  • Training and supplies are provided. One (1) coach per team must be certified in first aid and CPR. Training is available at no cost through the agency.
  • Volunteer coaches should be enthusiastic, dedicated, and positive individuals of all backgrounds, committed to empowering girls with valuable life lessons; individuals with a sincere interest in leading a healthy lifestyle and a sincere desire to help girls overcome the many difficult issues they face; and individuals who lead a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.

Hours

  • Programs are generally established based on coach and/or site availability, so hours vary by location.
  • Programs generally last 75 to 90 minutes and meet once or twice a week in the spring and/or fall.

Provides a variety of volunteer opportunities. Some opportunities may include the following: Coaching, Running buddy (run with a girl at the annual 5K), 5K Event Committee, and Race-day volunteers (such as water stop or course official).
