PREVENTION, RETENTION AND CONTINGENCY (PRC) - RELOCATION ASSISTANCE | PORTAGE COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF JOB AND FAMILY SERVICES
Provides a maximum of $1,500 in relocation assistance (including rent, rental deposit, and in rare cases, moving expenses) for those who are victims of domestic violence or have an emergent need. The emergent need may be caused by circumstances which, if not satisfied, threatens the safety or health of one (1) or more family members (such as unsafe or unsanitary conditions beyond the client's control).

Eligibility
- Serves families in Portage County sustaining disaster or who are victims of domestic violence. In addition, household must have at least one (1) child age 18 and under (or through 19 if the child is still in high school), pregnant women (from conception to delivery), or (in certain cases) be the non-custodial father or mother. - Family must have income which is at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guideline Level. - At least one (1) member of the family must be a United States citizen or qualified alien. - Limited to applicants who are victims of domestic violence (must have protection order) or who have an emergent need caused by circumstances beyond applicant's control which, if not satisfied, threatens the safety or health of one (1) or more family members (such as a bad septic tank, plumbing, or other major problems due to landlord neglect). - Assistance may be accessed once in a lifetime.
