Provides non-recurring, emergency benefits to help families to meet basic needs and/or sustain
employment,
-Family Strengthening and Preservation Services
Provides temporary Rental/Mortgage assistance to prevent eviction or homelessness. Provides GED Testing Fees. Other Family Strengthening and Prevention Services may be available through a referral from Protective Services division. Benefit Cap: $2,000
-Diversion/Contingency Services
Provides temporary Utility Assistance with disconnect or less than 10-day supply (Electric, Natural Gas, Propane, Water & Sewer, or Fuel Oil). Benefit cap: $1,500 (no more than $750.00 for each utility)
-Disaster Services
Provides temporary assistance with home repair or replacement of necessary household items following a disaster such as house fire, flood, etc. Benefit cap: $2,500
-Subsidized Employment Program (SEP)
Provides reimbursement to the employer for 50% of the new hire’s wages for 4 months. Now includes Tiffin City School students enrolled/placed at a work site through their BRAG program.
-Vehicle Repairs
Provides temporary assistance for working families when facing unexpected vehicle repair costs. Participants must be in full-time training for in-demand credential or actively working 20 hours per week. Repairs must be completed by a participating vendor. Regular vehicle maintenance is not included. Benefit cap: $2,000.
-Employment and Training (Employment Readiness) Services
Provides temporary assistance with Training and Employment costs such as uniforms, tools, tuition, books, mileage reimbursement, etc. First time drivers’ license training fees and drivers’ license fees. Cap determined by type of benefit: Services up to $500, or up to $6,500 for Training, or $500 max for drivers’ training and license fees.
-Vehicle Fuel Assistance
Provides temporary assistance toward the purchase of vehicle fuel for employment only (travel to/from worksite). Participant must be working at least 20 hours per week. Benefits issued though a Purchase Authorization (voucher) that must be used at agency approved vendor. Benefit cap: $100 per month / per person (Limited to 4 months)
